What is warehousing?
Warehousing, also known as warehouse management, refers to the process of storing goods in large warehouses. These goods are kept for a certain period of time and later distributed or sold. It can include stocks of consumer products for shops as well as raw materials. Besides goods storage, warehousing focuses on Value Added Logistics, such as labelling and repackaging activities. GD-iTS Group has warehouses at various locations in central Netherlands, where we ensure the safety of your products at all times.
Crossdocking
With crossdocking, goods are transported to their destination immediately after arrival at the warehouse, without being stored first. This process often takes place in large warehouses specially equipped to move goods quickly from inbound to outbound transport. Crossdocking speeds up the logistics process in warehousing by minimising storage time, which is especially useful for products that need to be distributed quickly. This efficient method helps companies save costs and reduce lead times, resulting in faster delivery to customers.
With eight strategically located transhipment locations in the centre of the Netherlands, we at GD-iTS Group have extensive capabilities to load and unload goods quickly. We have spacious warehouse areas with more than 80 loading and unloading docks, allowing us to be flexible in scheduling and to move quickly.
Storage of goods
Are you interested in warehousing and want to store your goods for a shorter or longer period of time? At GD-iTS Group, we offer various storage and transfer facilities, including dry storage. Whether it’s pallets, fragile products or goods that need to be kept under specific conditions, we provide safe storage for your products. Our warehouses have a total storage area of more than 100,000 m2 and are equipped to support both temporary and long-term storage. In addition, they are fully secured and isolated on locked premises, guaranteeing safe storage of your goods at all times.
Value Added Logistics
At GD-iTS Group, we also offer various VAL (value added logistics) activities, so that we can make you even more carefree during the logistics process of warehousing. Value Added Logistics refers to logistics services that add value to goods during their journey through the supply chain. This can include assembly, packaging and quality control. Other services such as labelling and sealing are also possible.
Warehouse management
When you want your warehousing to be well managed, warehouse management is almost inevitable. Through warehouse management, all activities that take place in the warehouse are managed, organised and optimised, with the aim of maximising efficiency and minimising costs. An important aspect of warehouse management is warehouse inventory management. Using GD-iTS Group’s latest techniques, we ensure that your current stock of goods is always visible. Moreover, through our customer portal, you are constantly informed and can quickly schedule deliveries. This is taken care of with our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Bonded warehouse
If you import goods or products from outside the European Union, a bonded warehouse can be an interesting solution. A bonded warehouse is a customs warehouse where goods can be stored without having to pay import duties or taxes directly. It functions as an intermediate storage solution between the time of collection and the final destination. Payment of customs duties and VAT only takes place when the goods are released for domestic consumption in the destination country.
GD-iTS Group has its own bonded warehouse, which means we can offer our customers the benefits of a bonded warehouse directly in our own warehouses. This not only offers flexibility, but also saves costs and provides efficiency in the supply chain.
